Late in the afternoon, I received a phone call from the producers of the Al Rantel Show. Wanted to know if I would speak about Orange County Sheriff Mike Carona's recent announcement that he wants some of his deputies to play the "arrest the illegal immigrant" game. I agreed.

Turned out they were much more fascinated by Ask a Mexican! So we played that game for most of the hour (aired on KABC-AM 790). Don't have a link to the archive, but let's just say it was a lovely old time. And tomorrow: AirTalk with Larry Mantle.

Gus - Caught the show with Al Rantel.

I was glad to you calling yourself a libertarian.

Al Rantel is chest thumpingly mediocre. The poor man's Limbaugh who seems to pay lip service to limited government but is perfectly willing to interfere in the economy of this great nation because those Mexicans, those Mexicans DEY TOOK ARR JERRRRBS.

And donde was the point with that guy from Rochester who rambling about how his peon brethren who garden and clean houses in upstate NY make less than our primos in So Cali? That dude had no idea of the cost of living differences.

But again, and I am glad you've gone on the record as a small "l" liberarian.

How about leftist libertarian? Or, to steal from one of my mentors, anarcho-libertarian? Whatever the hell that means.

I thought you did a nice job on Rantel's show. In addition to being a good writer, you're quite "good on your feet".

    Take care,

Pablo, are you disputing the fact of the displacement of the American worker by foreign nationals working in a black market?

I thought you were smarter than that.
